Bassic Colors No. 20 – "Oiled finish walnut"

Post by bassduke49 »

Sorry this installment is late, but I had forgotten to include one of the colors that is not a color. The "oiled finish" on walnut wood applies only to two models: the original 4004C Cheyenne and the 4004LK Lemmy Killmister basses. I don't know what is involved with the finish at the factory. Are they sealed somehow? Is it tung oil? Maybe nothing at all? The neck-through construction on both of these is maple, so I think they are sealed somehow. At any rate, they are super attractive. Here are photos of my VVT-mod Cheyenne and a couple of Lemmy's (Steve Wood's and Brian Crisman's, I believe) taken at 2008's RIO. Please discuss and post more photos!

Such an idyllic setting for those LKs! Lemmy, himself, would approve, no doubt!

A '91? You sure about that, John? My records show the 4004C coming out in late '92-early '93. Hmm.

Multitasking.... Backing up Irene's new VIAO notebook. It is an April 1995. Corrected. Thanks for catching that, Mr. Editor!

Whew! Thought there for a second we might have to revise everything we know about RIC basses. Next thing you'll tell me is that the sun doesn't revolve around the earth!
