JA came to me as a stripped carcass so she was a moderate resto.
Very worthwhile and am very pleased with the end result

Very nice John, I see JA on Klusons and a nice full scratch plate, really cool indeed.

No Klusons(sorry about the iPhone pic), but they are Contour Slimlines. I need to re-assemble the Flat Slimlines as I sent them out to be replated.Seans wrote:Very nice John, I see JA on Klusons and a nice full scratch plate, really cool indeed.
The full guard is supposedly from a '68. I didn't have a short guard but felt this one looked pretty nice and was my only "real" vintage Rick guard....
Re: JAxxx comes home :-)
Those full guards are just so cool.
At the moment my 21 is off the road awaiting new truss rods, which are proving rather expensive, I'm missing it more now.

Looking good, John! I love it when these old basses are bought back to life!

Re: JAxxx comes home :-)
Congrats John! VERY tastefully done!!
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .
Re: JAxxx comes home :-)
Sweet! Congrats on a nice job!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: JAxxx comes home :-)
They look great together Congrats!
Re: JAxxx comes home :-)
Hey! Quit hogging all the 21-fretters!!
Very nice job on the restoration. Looks really good with that guard too. I really like how the guard follows the body curve, unlike current ones (HINT!).
Also like the SN letters!

LOL!
The JA was arrived at by some detective work....
The position of the neck cavity is most similar to
Graham's 69...
xxx just made sense as I don't want to take a number in
use...
If I find anything to prove otherwise I'll reconsider.
Re: JAxxx comes home :-)
Congrats again John. Two sweet basses on deck and eyes peeled for at least one more!
