Oh no, Hello Kitty!

Post by Dirk »

Spotted it in a fretless thread on Talkbass, note the lack of frets.

I'd rock it. Though don't like the lack of a pickup switch.

I wonder if that's Neck volume / Treble volume or just overall Vol / Tone with no pickup balancing at all? Either way, the owner clearly likes one sound and sticks to it.

Indeed Ken's post for the win! LOL
Someone needs to photoshop that, hahaha.

The lack of filled fret slots is offensive to my sensibilities.
I can't tell if those are actually working knobs or just filler pieces.
Hey at least your pick supply is always close by.

Gosh yes, I hadn't seen that. I'm no expert, but wouldn't all the un-filled fret slots eventually give rise to a weakness/instability in the fingerboard surface?

IIRC, it has a volume and a blend.

@ Ken,
yes of course over time the fingerboard slots will chip and round over.
Any fretless conversion I've ever done you need to fill the slots with either veneer, plastic or other filler.

Hehehe I'm still chuckling thinking of Lemmy rockin' this thing.

And we all know that he would carry it off too - I mean, who'd have dared to argue with him?

The thought of Lemmy rocking that bass brings this to mind:

Fret slots were filled with an ebony veneer.

Controls are Vol/blend.

Front sticker has been changed and will get cleared in the next couple weeks.

I also have a 2011 4004 Cheyene ii fretless, and 1995 4003 converted to 5 string.
