Knobs

Post by T28 »

The posts on the Ric Vol/Tone seem larger than my other bases.
What shaft size do I need to change the knobs?
Thanks

What year and model Ric do you have?
In the meantime:

1. Pull off one of the knobs and see if the pot shaft is solid or split. You can measure your split or solid shafts with a caliper if you have one.
2. If split you will need a push on knob and have to count the splines to be sure to order a matching knob with same number of splines.
3. If solid shaft just order a knob with the right width and make sure it has a set screw in the side of it to tighten onto the shaft.
4. You can also use a solid shaft set screw knob on a split shaft pot. Just set the setscrew into the split part of the shaft and tighten gently.
