HELP!!!! Need help with an unusual song

Post by longhouse »

Been asked (short notice) to back a baritone singer at a Broadway-style revue. The song is 'To Each His Dulcinea' from 'The Man of La Mancha'. I cannot find sheet music or chord charts for it anywhere. I have 2 weeks to get it down. ...and I'll probably have to transpose it to the key of C (though that's not hard).

Any idea what the guitar is playing here:

Most versions are piano-based...

I can't read music, so this looks like Greek to me and it could just as well be the theme from Gilligan's Island, but check it out and see. It does seem to have that hunky-chunky rhythm going on (which sounded pretty awkward to me). You might also think about adding a little slap-bass on a 4003 to pep it up a bit.....

Nice! That's a good start. My kids are accomplished sight-readers, but I'm an ear player ...hopefully someone can jot these chords for me!

Then, I can transpose it.

Much appreciated.
