I'm not sure it ever penetrated the collective consciousness of the public at large, but for REM nuts like me and many others here I think Mike Mills's bass line in "Radio Free Europe" qualifies.

I usually fall into "Dreaming of Monday" when I'm noodling.

I'm going for some less common ones here.

The Only Living Boy in NY.......Simon & Garfunkel.

Go Your Own Way...............Fleetwood Mac

Sloop John B....................Beach Boys.

Countless others, I wonder how much Carol Kaye will come up in this list....I've already seen a few.

In the band I was in in the '80s we would play one and segue into into the other....and back again.

I find myself humming the one-note riff to Pretty Green (The Jam) and the simple four-bar line to Monkey Man (The Specials), but I get some odd looks when I do...

Pump It Up - Elvis Costello deserves a mention - it sticks in my brain like chewing-gum to a shoe. I hear its influence in My Sharona, amongst others.
