Case For Model 59

Post by MikeZito »

Quite simply - I recently picked up a 1937 Model 59, and would like to get a hardshell case for it. I did recently find a modern aluminum shotgun case that looks like it might work, but was hoping for something a little more 'vintage' looking.

Any suggestions, ideas, resources would be greatly appreciated.

A baritone ukulele case Is a reasonably good fit for these models. The accessory compartment in the case needs to be removed, and some extra padding added around the lower bout of the steel guitar a snug fit.

I have seen a very cheap/unprotective baritone uke gigbag that has about the right dimensions, but have yet to find a hardshell case with dimensions that are listed in the specs . . . but I will keep my eye out. Thanks.

Oddly enough, when I had my Model 100 lap steel, I bought a viola (IIRC) case and modified it and the guitar fit nicely in it.
