Saturday, August 27th saw the annual Beatles Memorabilia Auction organized by The Beatles Shop on Mathew Street (where else would it be!) Liverpool 2.

This year’s auction took place in the Unity Theatre on Hope Street where the main bidding action was the £18,000 / $24,000 (US) paid for an acetate disc recording of It's For You that Paul McCartney and John Lennon cut for Cilla Black in 1964 which is believed to be the only one still in existence - see ...

However, when looking down the online list of the near 300 articles that were auctioned off, this particular piece of Iron Door memorabilia caught my eye on which one G.S. Hogarth is referred to ...

Peter, thanks so very much for noticing this reference to the Iron Door and adding it here. A nice find a surely a treasure no matter the final bid.

Peter thank you for posting the details of the auction of mainly Beatles related articles. This particular design on the Iron Door membership card in the auction is indeed rare only a small number of this design were ordered from the printers.
The original design submitted to the block makers had a trumpet super imposed on to the outline of the door, this design was lost at the printers, with only days away from the opening of the club we opted for the membership card minus the trumpet.
