Who makes Ric Strings? I doubt they’re made in Santa Ana…

IIRC, the last suspected source was either D'Addario or GHS. Pyramid would be very last, dire, choice, I am pretty sure.

So, Ric Strings manufacturers change from time to time? Seems like their Strings would be in consistent? When I buy Strings I expect consistency as I’m sure most Guitarists do…

I’m obviously missing something? Is there a war between Ric & Pyramid over Strings or something? Can someone clue me in?

Thanks

RIC has had the same string supplier for over 10 years, and the supplier before that for another 20 or so, and probably a similar run from the one preceding.

Pyramid strings may have improved, but when reintroduced, due to their high tension, were the cause of many bowed necks and other problems. Count me in the category of people who gave them a shot and had a bad experience.

Does anyone know who Ric’s supplier is?

I’ve used Pyramids on my Hofner Bass, Fender Bass, Martin D-35 & my 360 12 String for several years. I don’t notice any extreme tension or bowed Neck issues? I do live in So Cal & don’t experience radical weather & humidity changes though…

That said, I used Ric strings for several years & had good experiences with them on my 360 6 & 12 string Guitars…

Thanks

I looked at Ric strings & it appears for Electric 12 String Guitars Thomastic makes their high end Strings, GHS makes their mid priced Strings & somebody else makes their budget Strings..

I think I’ll try these again…

Which ones do you all use & why?

Thanks

Neither Thomastik Infeld nor GHS make Rickenbacker branded strings.

That is not Rickenbacker’s website. That is a store that sells strings and accessories.

Rickenbacker’s website is www.rickenbacker.com

There must be some confusion? In a previous Post I was referred to RicStrings.com. I believe it was you. That’s the website I’m referring to..Not Rickenbacker.com…

Anyway…. According to RicStrings.com one Set of 12 Strings is made by Thomastik, one is made GHS & the other is made by an Unamed USA maker…

Are these Bogus or? Are there other Strings for 12 Strings made by Ric?

RicStrings.com is an independent dealer who has string sets made up for them by string manufacturers. This has nothing to do with the RIC.

Hope this helps clear any confusion.

So, Rickenbacker Strings are not connected to RicStrings… Wow that’s a bit deceptive…

I haven’t used Rickenbacker strings in so long I either didn’t know or forgot…..

Thanks for clarifying..

Greetings!
Now that Ricstrings is no longer, is there a good source for TI 12 string sets?
They really are good and last forever.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that you can still buy them as individual strings from juststrings.com. That's where I originally got the strings for my 370/12 and 340/12.
