It is, yup.
Well, they mustve had a source in his family then, I doubt anyone sells that stuff on ebay lol.
I would love to see the docu, especially if they might show some shapes and stuff he did besides the ones at RIC and Fender that I know of.

Hello,

About the documentary "-Who the f... is Roger Rossmeisl":
The "lazy" title is obviously a R&R-reference to Keith Richard's famous T-shirt.
Here you can find an interview with more informations about the film and a link to the New Jersey International Film Festival where the film will be screened this Saturday 5th June.

https://www.newjerseystage.com/articles ... ay-june-5/

The music is all played on Roger's instruments and his voice is spoken by Bruno Ganz.

Cheers,
Franz Hirsch

When I checked the title on IMDB to see when it was going to be available it says it was released in Sept of 2020 but I can’t find any further info and the only trailer I can find was only put up 3 weeks ago so maybe it’s being pushed back due to covid and IMDb just wasn’t updated? Anyone know anything about it? Despite the lazy title and the interviews with people that clearly didn’t know him I’m interested in seeing this.

What is your favourite Rossmeisl guitar/bass design outside of the Ric banner?

Mine is the Kustom K200 they were only made in 1968 and 1969, total Ric vibes on the body shape but with some Gretsch attributes (Bigsby and Dynasonics) and a VERY thin neck ala Mosrite. I’ve only ever played one and stupidly passed on buying it in favour of a Pre-CBS Mustang and have been kicking myself ever since.

Thanks for sharing the link to that interview, Kaspar!

Looks like John Hall is in the documentary...

"B - When we finished the interview with John Hall, (Rickenbacker CEO at that time) he gives us the name of Dick Burke, (92) who worked directly with Roger.. "Bon esprit" as we say between us. None of us knew the existence of Dick Burke. Super gift from John Hall.

C - In return, we were able to recommend John, who was looking for a good author for a new Rickenbacker book, to our good friend Martin Kelly, who had already written the book "Fender, The Golden Age 1946-1970". The new Rickenbacker book will appear soon."

Today's the day! Will be having a look!

Curious already, in case people here have already watched it, ...

how's the balance between 'real informative stuff' + old footage,
and say celebrities just talking a bit about the brand and telling nothing new?

I guess you could only stream it within 24 hours of the live event. I guess they don't want my money. Oh well!

Could unfortunately indeed only be seen during a certain timeslot. I figure there will be more screenings of this documentary someday somewhere...

It was certainly worth while I'd say. Not beyond great (why was there a guy with a purple 360 without strings ?! 8) ), but I'm glad I watched.

Bruno Ganz as the voice of Rossmeisl was a great idea though, gave the story a certain sadness, which was fitting (perhaps to compensate for certain details skipped by the makers, deliberately I assume).
