The green 4080 is seriously cool.

Not a big purple fan myself, but I can dig the color experimentation here.

The 4080 looks suspiciously similar to the JG they did for Claypool some months back, although I believe I can spot differences in the fretboard grain. The green color is cool, and Id like it with gold guards better, like the new CME limited run Tele.

Im in love with the grape jelly and want it on a 330/12 or 620/12.

Scott I am with you on this. Good to see new ideas rolling out of the Factory.

That's precisely what it is. The guys at RIC told me they made two when they built Claypool's 4080 and this is the other one.

That 4080 looks fantastic. Would love to play it through an obscenely loud bass rig.

That grape jelly makes me feel funny inside. In a good way. Anyone heard anything else about the what/when/where on those?

I emailed them about the jelly... they were kicking it around but I haven't heard anything more. They said it would probably be a 6er anyway, so I'm likely out if so. I wants a 12er in that.

I like those colors and wish Rickenbacker would release more daring finishes like these to the public instead of just making one-offs to tease us with.

When I worked for Guild from 1979-81, they wouldn't try anything new insofar as guitar finishes. It was the same old/same old, and that was at a time when bright color guitars were becoming popular again. People were discovering the old Fender custom colors, but Guild wouldn't change what they were doing, despite my suggestions. Shortly after I left, the president and vice president were both fired by the corporate owner and the son of the founder of the company was brought in to shake things up, which he certainly did.

That green reminds me of a Schwinn String Ray a friend had in the '60s.

Ric just posted on their IG that they’re starting to ship Jelly 330 models. If anyone sees one pop up anywhere, please share. I am more than interested!

I just emailed RIC and they immediately replied to say it was a small run of instruments and they are not taking any more orders. That's a bummer.
