John has always had a an eye for the ridiculous and definitely enjoys making money. I see this as self-satire, which I prefer to pretentious hair-shirt posturing. Definitely worth a good laugh!

The great thing about the guy is that he as always been very SINCERE about being INSINCERE--even in the Pistols' heyday, he was very up-front about Swindling the Public. He could never "sell out", because he never claimed to be "in".

I have to admit to being somewhat horrified when I first saw this advert, but then saw the funny side. Got a lot of time for Mr Lydon- he even makes 'celebrity' reality shows almost watchable. Perhaps one of the more bizarre things I've seen him on was 'Judge Judy', when he was being sued by a temp drummer. Check YouTube for it- brilliant (I'd post a link but I'm at work and we aren't allowed YouTube access, just in case we use it as a useful resource...).
