Rickenbacker Guitars:Out of the Frying Pan into the Fireglo
Rickenbacker Guitars:Out of the Frying Pan into the Fireglo
I suspect of interest to many on the RickResource Forum is a new Rickenbacker publication entitled Rickenbacker Guitars Out of the Frying Pan and into the Fireglo.
The authors are Martin and Paul Kelly and as I understand it the book offers 350 classic photos chronicling the era from 1931 to 2000. This publication is Martin's second publication, the first being Fender: The Golden Age 1946 to 1970.
I hope Martin and Paul will see this post and answer any questions that members may have with respect to this journey they have taken into the history of Rickenbacker instruments and those artists who have played them. I am excited about this new work as it is the essence of which this site has been all about for the past 20 years. You have to love it when someone drills down into the history of the Rickenbacker models that are the reason for us all being here.
Something new for us to pour over! So, questions anyone?

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Thanks Bob. I am looking forward to this newer look into Rickenbacker history. I wonder what made these researchers explore Rickenbacker over the other possibilities. Perhaps they will let us know.

I am preordering the second Amazon US links become available. This looks amazing! I have the Fender: The Golden Age book, and it's one of my favorites. I hope the same level of care and attention to detail was put into this one.

Got the Super Deluxe, haven't had quality time to really go through it, but great book!
Re: Rickenbacker Guitars:Out of the Frying Pan into the Fireglo
Super Deluxe here as well, simply amazing. Plus, extra valuable for me, accurate Rose Morris shipment data. Now I finally know which batch mine is, and how many more there are.

6 weeks since payment - hasn't arrived yet.
Question: Peter's opener to this thread mentions that the history and photos go from 1931 to 2000. Is that it? No "Color of the Year" selections from the early-mid 2,000's? No Walnut, 1993 Plus, 5-string bass models?
I hope he's wrong.
