I'm toying with the idea of putting on an Accent Vibrato on one of my 480's. Anybody seen it done?

As a matter of fact I have seen one before, I had a photo of it but I can't find it now. I'll look for it some more.

Stewart Macdonaled recently posted an interesting video with Erick Coleman repairing a troubled 480 that has suffered some fretboard seperation and truss rod abuse.

I know this is the photography forum but this thread has become the de-facto home for 480/1 guitars.

So I guess one will fit on a 480. BTW Erik, I took the 0.0047 cap out of 2 of my 480's. They lost some of the additional chime I got in the middle position (toaster and HB togeter) that was such a sweet sound, but now its much more functional in the bridge position, so it was a bit of a trade off. However, it is growing on me. I'll probably do it to #3.

This was always a well-liked thread by me in Jeff’’s 8) RRF Photograpy Forum here and I guess no one has acquired a 480 or 481 model in the last year :( and posted any photos .... I had to run a “search” on this heading to resurrect this thread, just to check out some of the previous postings of 480 - 481 models. I hope to see some 480 series models posted here again ...

I sold my 480 to buy the Gretsch Jet (japanese one). It was an autumnglo from 1980. On a search to get it or one like it back for years. That's my "one that got away".

It had a scratch on the 'R' tailpiece. If you ever come across an R tailpiece with a scratch on it, I'm interested!

I work at Heights Guitars in Toledo Ohio and would be up for any trades if any of you have any autumnglo 480's. I always wanted to try a 481 to hear the difference too. Never played one but have heard the slants don't affect the playability.

Any idea what is making the price so high for the 480XC anniversary ones they're making? Checkered binding? Pickups and Bridge?
