Tom's 660/12 - Does it have the Ric-O-Sound jack?

Post by Royce »

You can see it at about the 2:24 mark in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lAz7SPRLKk

Is that a Ric-O-Sound jack?..if it is, it's interesting that none of the production models has it.

I wish I knew more about the back story behind this guitar (when it was first conceived, any prototypes, what year is Tom's, etc...)

:)
Thankful to be included

Tom's 660/12 was not actually Tom's 660/12, at least not the one on the cover of Damn the Torpedos. That belongs to Mike Campbell.

Hwere's a cool video: https://dai.ly/x6g58e4

The one on the cover of the Damn the Torpedoes album was Mike Campbell's 625-12, the third 12-string made by RIC in 1963, one SN away from Harrison's 360-12. Like all 625 models, it has ROS.

The Tom Petty model 660-12 that he's playing in that video (or any 660 model, for that matter) doesn't have ROS just a mono output jack.
