Those are great, thanks for posting them.

Astrid has a great book of photos, not only the Beatles. All from back in the day.

I take it that Davy Jones is the same one who later joined The Monkees?

Davy Jones was an American singer who was backed by the Beatles a few times.

Speaking of the Monkees' Davy Jones..... he has clearly lost his mind. The notion that the made_for_TV Monkees were as authentic as the Beatles is just absurd:
Davy Jones says that the Beatles were just as manufactured as his own band, the Monkees. Jones said, “I think the Monkees have been viewed as a band that was manufactured, but the first manufactured band was really the Beatles. They were put by Brian Epstein in the same boots and the same suits.”

I think in Astrid's book she mentions being in a hotel room with the fabs, and they just being themselves. Till someone (press) enters, then they'd all quickly brush their hair down onto their foreheads, and start acting Beatley.

So in one way, by being very good students of Brian, they did have a "manufactured" image to uphold, at least early on. And it worked.

But their talent finally allowed them to break from that. Though they maintained their savvy in dealing with the press and the outside world in general.

Bottom line is however, they were talented people who did not come together as someone else's idea of a cash cow. That separated them from the Monkees, and many others, right up to American Idol.
