Beatles Channel 18 XM Sirius Radio

Post by iiipopes »

Has anybody listened to it yet? I caught the first day 9:09 EDT last Thursday. A minute of introductory announcements, then at 9:10 (Yes, the "One After 909") a straight launch into "All You Need Is Love." The channel is now a pre-set in my automobile radio.

Why AYNIL? Remember - that was the first song transmitted live broadcast world-wide on the first communications satellite, Telstar, on June 25, 1967.

OK. So Sirius jumped the 50 year anniversary date by a month or so...what....

Oh - and why channel 18? Not only does it seem it was the only channel available, but 1+8= you guessed it: Number 9, Number 9, Number 9....

This morning there was a mini-show on George's 12-string songs.

Yes, I'm listening to it even from here in Germany. It's great to have this channel and there are for sure some really cool things being broadcasted but IMO they can go much deeper than they are going. Hopefully over time...
