Sixties garage band website and album

Post by leonvi@consumer »

Here is a website for sixties garage bands. A local studio put out a battle of the bands album in 1967. It consisted of local bands. There is an interview I did on this site,(lower Left) I have one cut on the album. I used a Ric 330 MG so what better song than FEEL A WHOLE LOT BETTER By the Birds.I wonder if there are any other members out there that may be on this album. Boy those were the days!!!!

This is a good site, I visit it often.

WNYU here in NY is a great alternative/indie station and they feature a psych/garage show, Plastic Tales from the Marshmallow Dimension every Monday. They archive it every week. If you love garage from the 60s (who doesn't!!) check it out.

Here's a different website for '60s garage bands and the link to the article about my late '60s band: http://www.60sgaragebands.com/jdthesilencers.html

A Rickenbacker 360-12 MG 1966 was my instrument of choice.

I have no shame!

Thanks.

A later iteration of this group did a track on a vinyl LP, but I haven't yet figured out how to get it into a digital format.

Hey Ron,

Which kid are you in the picture? Are you the one standing at 12:00?

No, that's Paul McCartney's cousin, Sean.
