Ibanez Talman basses?

Post by RickyBubba »

I must admit I like the many color options they are offering, but haven't seen one in person. Have been watching E-bay, but used ones really haven't shown up yet.

So...anybody inspected and noodled on one? Thoughts?

I saw a couple of them in a GC last weekend, but i was too intent on checking out a Schroeder 1212 cab to Seriously look at them.
They look really good in person,(especially for the price),but i ended up using an American Standard Precision to test the cab.

One of the local music stores stock them: alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, P/J electronics. What's there to tell? Just like any bass with "elephant ear" tuners, it is neck heavy, exacerbated by the short upper horn. Sound-wise - meh - generic P/J. The plus side is choice of colors and low price point.

Just curious how the fit and finish is on the neck, in terms of the frets. Some lower end basses leave a little to be desired there, and you fell burrs and such. Many of our local shops have closed up and it is a hike to get to one of the chain stores.
