Practice amp

Post by clearblue »

Any suggestions on a first practice amp to go with my RIC 330? My budget is $250 and would like it to be 15-30W.
The 2 amps in the running are a VOX AD15VT and a Marshall MG15DFX. I've read so may reviews on many different amps and these to are my primary choices so far. I live in an apartment so I can't crank it up to full volume.

Definitely go with the vox. If you're not conversant with different tones, the Vox will be far more flexible. I have a Vox tonelab and it's got a similar (though more options-laden) brain.

But the easy thing to do is head to a sam ash and try them both out. You'll then get to enjoy watching the salesdudes drool over your cool guitar ;)

Thanks for the advice. I think they've got a RIC 360 in stock.

I just picked up a Roland Micro Cube that's pretty cool. It's like a little modeler with "British Stack" on it, among others.
