Twisted Neck on a 350V63/12 Replacement or Repair?
Hi Mark, Thanks for getting me here to this site. Well I think you know now the problem I have on my 350/12 string as I posted it over on Voxtalks. Twisted neck. Can this neck be saved or repaired? Can the one broken trussrod be replaced? I love this guitar and would like to start playing it but it has to be fixed. Do you perform repairs or can you recommend someone who can? Please let me know. Thanks Larry Bell
Larry,
I have never tried to do this repair on the new Rick rods but,I have pulled out fender rods and gibson rods and replaced them.
both without removing the fretboard.
Now this does not mean that you can always do it or can do it on every neck.
The Fender CBS era necks are tricky to pull out and even trickier to get back in.
Gibson'S require that you remove a part of the fretboard.I use the area under inlays. If there are no inlays then there is a clever trick up my sleeve that will remain a trick with me .
the key here is how/where the rods are anchored.
If indeed they are anchored inside the neckpickup cavity...then it's fixable and the fretboard does not have to come off.You will be one lucky guy.
Now go to my posting on how NOT to adjust a truss rod and see what went wrong and why.
