Yes, Ken, the 1997 is great. I've adjusted the neck back a bit and put on some Thomastik-Infeld 12s (suits my playing better than the 10s (?) that were on it) -- which I have kept, btw (they were either TIs or Pyramids, right?). They'll probably go on my Casino shortly.

Lawton, I don't believe the strings were Pyramids. They were on the guitar when I bought it last year and still seemed OK to me. Glad you are enjoying the guitar.

Man, that 650 looks great in the Fireglo with gold guard and TRC... Very classic looking! I'd like to get one of those for the humbucker tone...
Please let us know what you discover about it's sound thru a good amp!

Hey. They look and feel very similar to the Thomastik-Infeld strings I replaced them with (red silk on top and bottom, flatwound, etc.), just a smaller gauge. I am loving the guitar and will GIG WITH IT tonight. Woo hoo hoo!!!

Just beautiful. It would be very hard to get too much of this guitar.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Gene, I am using a modded Fender Blues Jr. and a Boogie DC5. I also plan on dropping by a friend's with a couple of Marshalls and a Boogie Rectoverb. I will be doing some knob twisting this weekend for sure. So stay tuned.

The drive channel on the rectoverb has a broad range. It would definitely be interesting to hear Rickenbacker humbuckers on it.
