Look who's turning 40 ...

Post by jwr2 »

I told Steve Cooper that now that he is turning 40 he will have to use flat wound strings, a mechanical mute, Ric-o-sound, and wear a sgt peppers uniform on stage ...

Jeff must be trying to decide which of his multitude of Rics he is going to give me as a b-day gift.

Hey Jeff - if all that's going to happen to Steve, you've got to tell us how you avoided "old Rick geezer syndrome". I do believe you're a tad past 40... Image

I just got tired of being retro ... I re-invented myself ... I became a modern rocker ... I sold all of my 60's and 70's basses ... and now I only play 5 strings ... Cooper helped convince me to try a 5 string bass so now I can return the favor by teasing him a little ...

Ken if you want to come and see my band the go to this page ...

you never know which basses I will bring ... but you can be sure they will have a low B ...

Ken, if you're in the mood to party ALL weekend, my band is out next weekend also, at the US-12 in Wayne.

Maybe even worse he'll have to start playing in a modern cover band.

I got you beat ... I'm over 50 ... I plan to keep rocking as long as I can walk and hear ... the 60's were very cool ... a very important and transitional decade ...

Steve Cooper has an interesting announcement to make here soon ... I know but I can't say ...

Right on, Jeff! I don't walk or hear as well as I used to but the rocking is still intact (I don't mean in a chair, either)...

Every decade is what you make of it, regardless of what the world seems to be doing...Haight-Ashbury was cool, Khe Sahn was not. You know what I mean.

Looking forward to Steve's news...
