Well, today's my 55th birthday and lotsa places seem to want to offer me the senior citizen discount now, so maybe it's not so far off in reality!

When I hit 55, IHOP raised it to 62...

Fortunately the clock is ticking backwards again.

Many Happy Returns John. Image
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Happy Birthday John! I turned 53 on April 7 and I'm getting those AARP things in the mail too. It's just another number. I think we all need to go out and have a few and chase some women around, ain't that what rock and roll and guitars are all about? Then we can get back to debating this stuff.

55 - you've got another 20 years before you get to thinking about it! Anyway what would you do if you retire? You'd only moan that "they're doing it all wrong"........well that's if you're anything like my Dad!!

For some local repair guy in Hamburg to go to the trouble, much less the knowledge of, copying Rickenbackers build style to a 'T' with a replica body with that little top edge bevel the Capris had or the exact style, thickness, backing that perfectly matches other guitars from the same batch/era is just about silly.

John Lennon was a nobody at that period in time. He would have got a repair job that could be spotted for miles if it happened!

There are enough of us that can spot a fake on ebay with a fuzzy photo at a 100 yards!

The fact that the woodgrain on V81 continues to match from the earliest of trade show/factory photos says it all.

(raising my glass) Happy Birthday Mr. Hall!

Well Paul, maybe once the fog clears from whatever you are smoking you will see whats in my glass. LOL

I came here to positively share my knowledge and opinions for my love of Rickenbackers.

It's not my style to single out individual members here just because they go against my opinions.

I don't think Peter encourages 'stirrers' either.

Peter, I really like the site!
