Book....Beatles Gear

I bought the softback version of Beatles gear about 579 days ago. I went to the store the other day (guitar center to be exact) and i picked up a hardback copy to look inside.....To my suprise, there was an andy babiuk autograph within it. How many have this? is there different and or updated information in this version

He will sign any that are bought in the House of Guitars... since he works there. You just have to be nice to him when you walk up to him. My First Edition Hardcover copy was the first one sold in the United States, is personally signed by him, and he numbered it too.

I don't know how many are out there signed, but he is always nice so probably a lot. Does it add to the value? I think so. Sentimental value...waiting months for the first one to come into the store.

Of course, the real value is talking to him WHEN he is signing it. He has so much knowledge.

Bought the hardcover the day it came out, had known about it for a long time. Met Andy at Beatlefest and bought a softcover revised version and had him sign it. Gave the hardcover away. He's a cool guy, I've had an LP of his band, The Chesterfield Kings, for years.

Paul, everything I SAID was fact. He IS a nice guy, and if you ask he WILL sign it as long as you are not a jerk to him. He DOES work in the House of Guitars. He DOES know a ton about the Beatles. He DID sell me the first commercially available book, and I have his signature and paperwork to prove it. He has already sold me 5 guitars and counting! (Cannot wait to save up for a Blueburst...

I hate to be a language stickler...but 'gear' doesn't mean equipment in Britain...at least not when one is discussing rock-n-roll. This I first discovered in the liner notes of the first Gentle Giant album. It was later reinforced when a friend of mine, part of a group of us travelling south through New Zealand, was partying in his hotel room with several other Yanks...someone called the cops, who showed up in an ill temper. One of them grabbed my buddy, threw him against the wall and demanded "Where's your gear?" My friend made the honest mistake of applying the American definition, and said "It's right upstairs." Man, did they ever tear his 'equipment' apart, but they never did find any 'gear'...

Dane, there is a third Brit meaning to "gear" that I've heard among friends and co-workers...I won't be too specific on this gentle site, but if I were to say that "gear=equipment" in an anatomic sense...?
