Weak Pick-Up

Post by pwolz »

Mark ,
I have notice a lack of output on my 4001(1979)bridge pick-up. Is there anything I can do, or check to see that everyting is OK ?
Will it be necesasary to replace it ?

I had a '78 4001 once, and I had to have the pickup rewound and eventually replaced. (Maybe they were cranking out a lot of them at the time and they eventually fell apart? I don't know.) Do those basses have .0047uf caps on the treble pickup?

I'm in over my head here, but that's my 2¢. On to the experts.

The .0047 cap is there between the switch and the volume pot , it is the small one under the mess of wire .Replace it with a piece of wire , that will fix your problem .
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!
