Hmmm... that would be cool if it were the case! I've never seen JPJ with a Ric. Anyone else?

I wouldn't be surprised if he owned a few.
Who can resist? I'd love to hear it though.

I'm just wondering if he played that on purpose or if he forgot his J bass.

First time I've ever seen him used one...
He always sounded like the kind of guy who would of played a Rickenbacker from time to time.

Did Page ever own a Ric guitar? And is there any photographic evidence of it?

Somewhere I have copies of the invoices for the Rickenbacker instruments and amps sent to Led Zeppelin in 1969. I'll go through my files and post what I find.

There's a B&W photo in the Smith book showing Page, Plant and Bonham standing in front of a stack of Transonic amps during a visit to the Rickenbacker factory in 1969.

There's another person also in that photo standing beside Page. I wonder if that's JH?

I remember reading that Jimmy Page used a Rick 12 string live around '70 or '71, but i've never seen a photo to support this.

I think I remember in a issue of Rolling Stone that had excerpts from a Led Zep book ( Hammer of the Gods??) & it starts with Page scamming a whole new set of Marshall Cabinets by replacing the blown speakers from some Fender Cabs w/ Rickenbacker speakers out of Ric Cabs he had & then trading the beat Fender gear for a new set of Marshells because Fender gear was hot stuff at the time in the UK ,

Actually, Page used a Ric 12-string (I don't know which modely) on the studio recording of "Stairway to Heaven". At that point, he didn't own the doubleneck SG, and so he had to get a separate guitar to play the 12-string part in the song. Very soon after, he bought the doubleneck, and he used that for all the twelve parts (unless he had a 12-string Danelectro as well, but I'm not sure on that one).

...always liked those 'Dane'lectros, for some reason...as well as John Paul Jones' professional use of his middle name...
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...
