Hi-Gains and Pole pieces
Hey all, I was wondering, My high gain pickups are all scratched up and worn down (the poles) Is there anyway of painting that.......I've also read about removing the pole pieces........how does that work.........does it change the sound?

I would not even consider removign th epolepieces .... on an old Rick ...say pre 1985 , the coil is wound onto these polepieces .
The polepieces are reverse threads of a sort ... you will certainly break the coil wire needing a rewind .
Coil looking tacky ? then respray it with black paint .
The black that is used to paint these old pickups is the same paint as was used to spray the guitars and basses .. at least that is what I was told .
