By the way, will Rickenbacker swap new "scatterwound" toasters for hotter 90's ones the way they will sell/swap a TRC or pickguard for customers?Just curious.
Thanks for the offer, butI was just curious.I won a 1997 325v63 on Ebay and it was delivered just yesterday.I haven't had enough time to play with it yet.I really need a good practice amp that would be well suited to this guitar.Maybe after I get my Silvertone 1451 fixed I will have a better idea how it sounds. My other amp is a Tech 21 Trademark 10,great for my Gibson Melody Maker and Fender Duo-Sonic but I can't find the right sound for a Ric with this amp.Maybe a small Vox would sound better.
If any of you are planning on winding or unwinding a pickup you better have good eyes, a delicate touch and a LOT of patience as that wire is so fine it is unbelievable.
Good question, Mitch. I don't think the p/u specs for the C64's have been released.
But my SWAG is that they will be the 7.4kOhm scatterwounds, as these are considered "60's spec". These are the standard toaster pickups ( "VP" option) used by RIC today (except in the C58's, as BobKat mentioned on page 1 of this thread).
