Tom Petty in So. Cal.

It would be worth going just to see Tom play his 660/12.

You mean Mike Park's Rickenbacker 660/12. Petty was just posing with Mike's guitar on teh cover of "Damn the Torpedoes" and Rickenbacker decided that he would be a great frontman for the model. True, I have seen him with a 660 but mostly using 300 series guitars.

My wife and I got two seats, center-orchestra pit, second row for the San Diego show!

Black Crowes are supporting.

Mike Campbell's Rickenbacker, wasn't it?

Either way, that was the cover that influenced me to finally get a 620..that shape!

It is Mikes.

It's also considered #3 Rickenbacker 12 string right after Harrison's and Arden's.

Mike Campbells. I had the name Mike Parks in my head for some reason. Oops. Good catch Christopher.

Karl, how did you get those tickets?

I bought mine through the Ticketmaster presale for the San Diego show, and it never once gave me the opportunity to buy orchestra pit seats, and I was on the computer awaiting the clock to strike 10 PST.

I had to give up seats in section 102, so I'm in 103 now.

Aye, that'll do it Image

Have you seen Tom Petty in concert before? I haven't, but I'm definitely looking forward to it. My favorite songs of his are 'You Wreck Me' and 'Feel A Whole Lot Better,' though I know that's a Byrds cover.

I still have my T-shirt from the 'Damn The Torpedoes' tour somewhere stored away with a dozen other old tour T-shirts!!! lol

I was in Junior High then. No MTV. Just REAL radio!

The thing was you HAD to buy a shirt so you could wear it to school the next day! It was like wearing a rock-n-roll medal.

I have never seen a bad show! You are in for a treat.

Petty is the last of the real rockers and one of my biggest influences on how a BAND should sound.

Cool, I can't wait. He'll be the second Traveling Wilbury I've seen... I saw Bob in October up here in Northern California.

I know it's a longshot, but I'm hoping he'll cover a George song, or perhaps do Handle With Care. I'll keep my fingers crossed Image.
