my 4003S has a neck similar to a v63 in that it is very beefy on te back side. my 4003 has a much flatter faster neck it feels only slightly slimmer than the new ones. The differences maybe only psychological. Play the basses back to back like I have and you'll not notice much of a difference.

Of course, they are all different but my '94 V63 is quite thin compared with my '02 4003s/5 and all of the post '01 4003s I have played. Have you had a chance to play a very new 4003? They have definately changed.

That 4005 is just plain sweet. It made me want a "5" in my collection.
