Bass pickup magnets

Post by d_funkie »

HI. I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING PICKUP MAGNETS. ARE THE POLE PEICES ATTRACTED TO THE CERAMIC MAGNET OR IS IT PUSHING AWAY AND IF SO, WHICH ONE HAD THE POSITIVE SIDE FACING UP? THIS IS PROBABLY A DUMB QUESTION.

Steel is a ferrous material .

It does not know north from south .

Magnets have a north and south 'pole' .

The steel is attracted to either side .

To try this ....go to a hardware store and stick a magnet into a bin of nails ...do any of the nails move away from the magnet?

Answer ...........NO none of them move away.
There is NO negative nor positive side to a magnet .

Do you know of a guitarist named Humphrey Wang? you sound like him !He used to ask me similar questions .
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!
