"That pic of Geddy w/the Ric is the pre-chop days. He had a BadAssII on there at one point."
No, it was an original BadAss bridge.
I wanted one of those jazz basses too. I guess if they suck I'll just go without. Or I could build one. But then I would need to know how to do that and......
I ramble on alot.

Go out and try a Geddy Lee Sig, you may find that you like it ! I dont think that $600.00 bux is bad for a decent Jazz bass. I've owned a few late '70's and early '80's Jazz basses that played alot worse than the few Geddy Sigs that I've tried. Besides that, if you get a real '72 or '73 , the truss rod adjustment will be under the pickguard anyway.

Yeah, sounds good. I've read alot of great reviews but some people here hate 'em, IE: Rath. The thing is I have to find one before I get one and if I found one down here it would be like $2000 for it.

I have a Geddy Jazz that plays quite nice, but it did need a good setup and an additional tweak. The neck is so thin that it requires regular truss rod adjustment. I also found that I couldn't get the action low enough, so I had to file the Badass saddles a bit. After that it really came to life as a player.

The worst bass I ever played was a sunburst '71 Jazz bass that a neighbor friend lent to me when I was in high school, just learning to play bass. I couldn't figure out why I preferred my Japanese EB-3 copy, and at the time I thought it was because I just didn't know how to play well enough to appreciate it!

I am in the market for a Fender Jazz right now. I haven't found the right model for me yet. The Geddy and a really expensive used 76 are the only ones I've really liked. I have not heard of this "Aerodyne" jazz bass. I am on the Fender website now and I can't find it anywhere. I did see something new at a guitar show that resembled a jazz. Is it black and does it have an odd pick-up placement? Sort of a jazz/precision combo?

Its black head stock and all. Have a weird smoked color hardware. It has the P pickup by the neck and the J pick up by the bridge. Volume for each and then tone. There really awesome. Let me take a pic of it and ill send it to you. They are awesome. One of my favorite fenders. Iv played one of those 70's jazz basses. I like it alot. But They cost alot more and i dont get both pickups. Oh well.
