If there is a Quarrymen CD in the works I don't know. But there's one in my lap: Songs We Remember (2004, BMG Japan).

As you'll understand, recorded in Japan by The Quarrymen (Rod Davis, Len Garry, Eric Griffiths and Colin Hanton, with Sakito Shirabe (bass) and Mike Neary, piano). As title suggests, CD contains mostly older and newer traditional songs (e.g. I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone, Down By The Riverside, Memphis Tennessee,Blue Suede Shoes). And from The Beatles lore: That'll Be The Day, In Spite Of All The Danger, Twenty Flight Rock, Maggie May. -Even (Bonus Track): In My Life). The latter the only song not treated too well, i.m.o. All other songs performed ably, in the trad. "skiffle" style. No power drumming or loud electricity.
As you'll know: Eric Griffiths died a few months ago, so this recommended CD is his epitaph.
Searchers amongst my teenage favourite music. Still fond of them, but earnestly a little puzzled they are considered THIS big! But I'm very excited about this forum, and will love to read it regularly, and also contribute!
