650 or 620

Post by moopysanchez »

I know you probibly get this question a lot but...

I am deciding between a 620 and a 650D.

I like how 620 looks with the binding and R piece, but I also like the 650's price and simplicity.
I am choosing these over a American Deluxe Strat.

Any ideas?

Sounds to me like a 650 is headed your way.

Michael,

Either way, please make it a Rickenbacker. If you want a guitar designed to compete head-up with a Stratocaster, consider the 650 and be content that you'll be the only guy using one at your next "Blues Jam"!

Functionally speaking, the 650 has a wider neck. Aesthetically, the 620 is obviously a bit more glam.

I'd probably go with a jetglo (black) 620 for no apparently good reason Image

That specific 650C has me drooling in another thread...

The only thing I dislike is the pickguard. I don't like it's smallish shape.
I would rather have the standard white pickguard, too bad that can't really be done without drilling new holes... Plus it might be more then new holes, maybe the cavity won't support it...

Patrick: A custom two-tier guard could easily be made for this instrument with the screw holes positioned such that the stock guard would hide the holes should you wish to revert back to the original configuration.

David: The photo you have posted surely confirms once and for all that this guitar is a knock-out in Fireglo. I love the contrasting neck with the fireglo finish.

The 650C FG picture I posted was from The Music Zoo - he appears to have 2 in stock, and comes highly recommended by other members of this forum.

Do many people here have rics in mapleglo?

I really like the mapleglo. The only problem is it is out of stock on Musician's Friend until next November.

If anyone has some pictures of a mapleglo 620, or a jetglo 620, can you post them? Thanks.
