Recycling Bass Strings Between Different Models

Post by gpatt5762 »

I just got a new set of Pyramids for my 4003S. Joy, Joy Joy!!! I can't resist the urge to try them on my 4003S, BUT,
their real intentioned application (They're coming, trust me on this) is for a certain re-issue bass which shall remain nameless(though everyone else calls them C-Series!)

My Question: are the tuner layouts between 4003 headstocks and, say, vintage 4001's or V63's different to the point where, once cut to length for a 4003, I'll be stuck?

Many thanks for your help,
Garry
The ideal mix leaves the bass player louder than the rest of the band put together!

Garry, they ought to be close, especially if you don't skimp on the number of wraps on the stringpost. You Are dealing with same scale length,
and I think quite possibly this will work, without a problem.
