Burns Knobs/Where Appropriate

Post by rkbsound »

I was wondering if there is a list of models where Burns knobs would be most appropriate. Is it just John Lennon played guitars? Any Rick? Certain colors of certain models? Thanks.

I would assume that most people probably use them for 325 and 350 models. Personally, I have the Burns repros on a 360/6MG and they look very nice. I just like the look chrome knobs along with my chrome tailpiece etc - instead of the stock plastic knobs set.

Speaking of knobs, anyone else besides myself use the 650 series knobs on their 300 series Rics? Again, I think chrome on chrome looks smashing.

Corey,

I currently have a set of the second repros Wes Cooksey made on my '60 450 Combo, and they look and feel awesome.

I haven't andonized the pickguard I fabricated for it yet, so the aluminum against the aluminum knobs and the honey gold laquer on it right now look great in combination.

Those 650 knobs, unless I miss my guess, are the same style and shape as the original two knobs they used on Lennon's 325 before it was converted to a 4 knob configuration. For anyone that decides to take their C series once it comes out and retro it to a 2 knob unit, thses would work perfect.
