A troll refers to someone, usually some teenage kid, who comes onto an internet message board and generally tries to wreak havoc on said board by slandering others and making lots of posts that have nothing to do with anything, for example.
You're obviously not a troll, Paul, but making all these "name" posts exemplifies typical "trollish" behavior.

That term typifies the colorful but somewhat incendiary language used on the Web, and it had perhaps the wrong effect on those of us who were merely, er, trolling for reaction...
