Thanks to the suggestion from Craig Allmendinger who will attempt to explore the issue further.Quote:It looks like a Neumann KM56, however it looks like they put a KM54 capsule on a 56 body with windscreen. Will ask around and see if I can come up with any additional info.

OK... Here's what I can remember.

I think they were "University Sound" mics for two reasons

1. As I recall they (University) were pretty big in broadcasting back then

2. My band used them and we freaked when we saw the Beatles on Sullivan, because their mics looked just like ours. (the windscreens were a "wider" mesh than any others I have seen).

Anyway, that's how an "old man" remembers it.
