Is the fretboard binding (on RIC basses) covered with a little coat of transparent?
Today I noticed that it is cracking: the binding is yellower than the crack, which is white. I think that some coat is gone off.
Is there a remedy? Any suggestion is well appreciate.
Thanks

The entire guitar is covered in a series of clear coats of 'finish'
The guitars are first sprayed with a sealing coat .
Then the binding is taped so that upon spraying any color , there will be less material to remove from the binding and make for less chance of a slip up/ error .
After the binding has been cleaned of excess color , the clear coats are applied .
There are several versions of fixing this ... I have a couple , but I would suggest you get the 'official' version from Rickenbacker .
