BBR This Year Only - What for 2006?

Post by atomic_punk »

Mr. Hall stated on the Rickenbacker site that BBR would not be continued into next year, so order now, and let the speculation begin for next year.

To the question of someone who wanted one but might wait until next year, wondering if the color would be carried over...

I'm not sure if there will be a Color of the Year for 2006. Being the 75th Anniversary, they're certainly planning something special, and a COTY might just be held off in favor of whatever they've got planned.

That is a possibility and I haven't heard a word about a COY for 2006.

Come on Ben.. We're depending on you for some inside info...

2007 should be exciting too as I bet Rickenbacker plans something for the 50th anniversary of the bass.

Ben, at what point in the year does the company usually come up with the COY?

Usually around November/December. Montezuma I think was a later decision after a Christmas trip to Central America if you catch my drift. Blueburst I think was a November decision.

If we were to have a color this next year I would personally prefer a solid color... not another burst and not another pastel!

I too, am not a big fan of pastel colors on instruments, or blues and greens, for that matter. Warmer colors always looks best on instruments. Copperglo might be cool. As much as I'd hate to admit it, Fender's Chrome Red looks quite nice, even Candy Apple Red might be a nice color, especially on the 4004s.

I think it would have to be white thats an anniversary color, plus a white 4004cii with gold hardware would be hot.

I, too, like the white with white. Although Blue Boy kinda looks like that in bright pictures, I think it would be sweet.
