Schwinn made a few "Grape Krate" reproduction bikes a few years ago...even thought they really never existed in the first place....I had one.

The Grape Krate sounds cool. I've never seen one.

How about "Grape Krate-glo" for the 2006 COY?

But would it be transparent, opaque, or sparkly?!

I had my 4003MB re-routed and moved the hi-gain neck pick-up to the vintage 1/2" spacing. I like what it did for the tone of the bass. I also had a vintage pickguard made for it too. It looks a little closer to my V63 now.
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again

I thought JH had said there would not be a COY next year, something else is in the plot.

Thanks, Dane.

Ahhhhh...Lemon Peeler. My bro had one. My other bro had the Orange Krate. At the time I was too small to have one. I got a little yellow fixed gear Schwinn with solid tires and training wheels. It was dangerous on a steep downhill with no brakes!

And then...go figure...I inherited all the hand-me-down bad clothes; the Greg Brady pants and belts and leisure suits and parkas with furry hoods...but what happened to the two Schwinn Stingrays? Sold by an ad in the paper for chump change before I could get a hold of 'em. And there were only 2 years between each of us! Where is the justice?

Marc- Good choice. He'll be the coolest kid in town!

Somebody should make a shifter/derailleur kit to add to the new ones. I know its a liability thing, but what the heck!

Hey Dane! Is that a Manta with a regular 'ray seat on it? I had an orange one but left the "toilet seat" on it for my big *ss! lol!!

Chris...That was the last sparkle blue Stingray seat my Schwinn shop had before they closed. I took the big stock seat off, had it re-done in sparkle red for my 26" custom Stingray where it looks "right". I built that Manta Ray for my daughter who didn't like any of the stock colors. I'll give it back to her after she gets out of college and has someplace safe to keep it.
Marc...Schwinn makes a 5-speed, front and rear drum brake version of the Grey Ghost. With a few select parts, it can be made almost indestinguishable from the original. Now THIS is a thread going WAY off topic!
