Gold Nameplate and Pickguards
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A GOLD NAMEPLATE AND PICKGUARDS FOR MY TURQUOISE 330 ? THANKS CARL
As far as I know, you can still get "gold"
nameplates from Rick, But, you have to send them your existing one andcash as well[$25 for the white-backed silkscreened;don't recall if price is same for gold].As to the pickguards, if your guitar is made the last couple years, I would think they could set you up with guards that "fit" as well.

You can get them from Mcc in Japan and you don't have to turn in your old nameplate.
I belive that it will cost you 200.00 + 30.00 shipping though.
Ask Tuck Hersey.
I called Rickenbacker about doing the same and they said that it would cost 25.00 plus my nameplate. The pick guard is under $20.00 and you can keep your old.
Rickenbacker did point out that if I did this, it would void my 5 year warranty.

McC's illegal counterfeiting activity was very recently brought to our attention and I understand appropriate action will be taken in Japan within the next few days. Given that our affairs in Japan are now handled by an organization with annual revenues of $3.4 billion, this is a situation that won't exist very long.

I've always wondered where McC find those nameplates on sale at their site.
Since Jetglow referred to me, I'm posting this so nobody will misunderstand it, just in case.
I've purchased some items from McC over the years, but I've never bought/made a nameplate from/for them. The handmade nameplate on my 325 is strictly for my enjoyment and I've made no other nameplate for anyone at all. I made the 50's style nameplate just because I wanted to make my 325 look more like Lennon's. I still have the original nameplate in the guitar case and have no intension to sell it to anyone.

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE RESONSES. I WILL CALL RICKENBACKER AND SEE IF THEY HAVE THEM. I HAVE NO OBJECTIONS TO TURNING IN MY OLD NAME PLATE. I SAW A PICTURE OF A TURQUOISE 325 WITH THE GOLD NAMEPLATE AND GUARDS AND THOUGHT IT LOOKED COOL. SO I FIGURED I'D DO THE SAME TO MY TURQUOISE 330 ( WHICH I HAVE TO SAY, IS THE COOLEST GUITAR I'VE EVER OWNED). .... P.S. IF MR. HALL READS THIS, DOES RICKENBACKER SELL THE GOLD PICKGUARDS AND NAMEPLATES? THANK YOU CARL RICHARDS

Sorry Tuck, It looks like I mistakenly opened up a can of worms here. I have learned a valuable lesson and I apologize for any trouble.
Mr. hall,
Tuck did not refer me to Mcc for nameplates. I just referred Carl to him because he has a lot of Rickenbacker knowlege. Unfortunately, the way I wrote it, It could be considered in a different way. Sorry again Tuck..............

Carl, I ordered a gold nameplae simply by calling the RIC rep in my area and giving him the model and serial number of my guitar. He then sent the nameplate to my local dealer and I didn't have to turn in the old one. Hope that helps.

He definitely was not acting as a free agent. He did read me the riot act and explained the problem with counterfeiting. Maybe because I have several RIC's registered with them he gave me a break. If he was acting as a free agent he probably wouldn't have made me go through my local dealer. I was, however, grateful for the service he provided.
