Moderator: jingle_jangle
Well ... there is a guy that the factory reccommends , however ... and I have a photo of the receipt, he did not know what to do with Lewis Lustman's 12 string .....
I believe Lewis has posted , what I did and what the difference is -before and after .
This is not so much as to toot my own horn , just that I want to point out , that I don't know any one down there any more .
Carruthers does not personaly do any work on guitars (except for Rock star buddies and friends) , Henri in Costa Mesa just passed away , I have no idea where Randy Hill is any more , he was one of my guys ...he did work for Fred Walecki and Spitzers , but heard he was working on a Para medic thing ... so ????????

Yes I sure do ... last week was a busy one ... nine 12 strings in the shop all for the same reason and three of them from Ohio !!!!
One was easily the BEST Rick 360-12 string that I have EVER played . What a great neck , beautiful wood and the fireglo was still in fantastic condition .
(JT is a lucky guy , and his uncle can give me a guitar any time )

Mark I would like to know what it would cost to do the 12 string mod. Nut, 12 String Bridge,& scatter wound pickups. I had a shop in columbus do it but they did not know how to do it correctly. I had them put back on the stock 6 saddle bridge, can the saddles on the 12 saddle be replaced or do I have to buy a new one. I aslo am thinking of trading my 36012 wb for a 660tp any thoughts on this. thanks rick
I have no idea if you can buy the saddles from Rick or not ... kind of doubt it .
However , I really don't know .
I will say that I have salvaged many of these bridges after a wanna be repair man worked on it .
I have a list of things that I do to EVERY Rick 12 string ... these 7 items are a partial list of possible mods .
Because Ricks do NOT adjust like any other brand , nor as simple to adjust as a Fender (or their clones) very few repair people have a clue about what to do , where to begin and what needs to be done . THay also just do not have the exposure to these guitars/basses . So having little bench time with them ... well how would you feel taking a Ferarri to a Volkswagon dealership for service ?????
There is a difference in tone and feel between the 600 series and the 300 series ... unfortunately , there is NOT a store that stocks the full line of ricks in every major city ... at least not as far as I have ever heard . Not since a store 30 + years ago in Orange ,California .... they carried the full line of product .
Please contact me directly for further details.

I know that in my case, the only thing holding me back from sending my Ric 12 to Mark is the fact I live in Eastern Canada - and I'm a little too worried to ship my guitar THAT far.
If a potential move out to Vancouver next year happens, I will however either a) ship it to Mark from a much closer distance or b) make the trek across the border and hand deliver my 12, and then proceed to go look for Peter Buck
