Thanks, Jon. The luthier managed to get a little bit of tightness back into them, but I'm not concerned any more. The guitar stays in tune so well I don't have to use them very much.

I now think of it as a "feature" rather than anything else. I'm pretty sure that was John Hall's drift earlier in the thread.
