That site is awesome! It even has all the books about Rush (Not the new ones yet) on line for reading. I've e mailed John a couple times.. really nice guy! Scans from every tour book and album... reviews of the albums... a forum... Tour set lists... I love that site. I go there whenever I need to know something about Rush.
I bought the R30 tour book at the show. I still haven't put it down.

Funny story about "Entre Nous" . . . I had two friends in high school (who are still good friends of mine), and they didn't particularly like Rush, so I made a mix CD of random songs that didn't include any of their hits (except for "Subdivisions", because that's the song that really made Rush for me), and I let them listen to it.
After about a week each, they came back and asked which Rush album had the song "Entre Nous" on it, because they wanted to buy that album. Now, both of them own over half of Rush's catalogue. I guess that song has some sort of magical quality to it.
As for Wal pickups . . . OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO BUY SOME! Well, I need to email them first, but still . . . man, that would be so amazing. I wonder how much they'd be though.

I'd like a Wal but just having the electronics.. jeeze.. that would be amazing. My problem would be finding the right bass to put them into.. a J bass? naw.. a 4004? Guys on this forum would kill me.. hmm.
Entre Nous is a great song. What other song didja have on the "non hits" CD? Open Secrets? Kid Gloves? Everyday Glory? In The End? ok I'm pulling songs out of the air now.. hehe.

"Diadacts and Narpets, No One at the Bridge..."?
NO! He's gotta have all of "The Fountain of Lamneth" on there! I love that song.
Steve, how come you only chose pre '84 songs? You don't like anything after Signals?
He shoulda had "Virtuality" on there. Or "War Paint"? How bout "Stupidconductor"... err "Superconductor"... wait... that song sucks!
Didja have "Tai Shan" on there? That song is beautiful! "Prime Mover"? Number 2 on my list, behind "The Pass".

I don't have the list with me, but I made a point of putting "Everyday Glory" on there, because I think that is one of the most gorgeous songs ever. Um, I believe I used "Everyday Glory", "Subdivisions", "Entre Nous", "Cinderella Man", "The Pass" (which was another fave of both the listeners and myself), "Totem", "Between the Wheels", and, um, actually, I had "Nocturne" and "Different Strings" on there as well.
Personally, I liked Superconductor. I think it's a great song. Certainly better than "Anagram". I probably should've used "Prime Mover", which is great as well. And "Tai Shan" is my least favorite Rush song ever, so I doubt I would have even mentioned that they made that song.
Oh, wait, I also put "Middletown Dreams" on the CD. LOVE THAT SONG!!! Actually, I always wondered why people didn't like 80s Rush. "Signals" is brilliant, "Grace Under Pressure" is brilliant, "Power Windows" is brilliant, "Hold Your Fire" is about 2/3 brilliant, and "Presto" is like 3/4 brilliant. It's all still awesome.

I chose pre-84 songs because he mentioned Subdivisions and Entre Nous, so I thought he might have gone backwards from there.
Admittedly, my Rush favorites are up to Signals, so I do have a bias. After that, for a while, they got a little too keyboardy for me, and I didn't like the subsequent albums as much. I still HAVE all of them...I kinda felt they swung back in the right direction on Counterparts.

WHAT?! I love that album. Although most people I know hate it. And "Tai Shan" is beautiful!
And it's not like I made up "Stupidconductor".

I still think that song sucks.
I personally think "Anagram" is a great song.
"Middletown Dreams"? Great choice. They need to do that one live again.
You know if you play along to "Everyday Glory" on the bass, you really don't need the G string at all. Well least I don't.. another great song.
Steve... we need to strap you in a chair a`la "A Clockwork Orange" and make you listen to everything from P/G to RTB. They may have been too keyboardy but those albums show Al's guitar a little more than "Signals". Plus the bass is sick! "The Enemy Within", "The Big Money", "Turn The Page", "Show Don't Tell", and "Where's My Thing" all have insane bass. And My Ric bothers me with those songs.. I want the Wal sound for those! Sure, TEW had the L2, but the Wal sounds better.

Like I said, I own all of those albums, and have listened to them a lot. They just don't "feel" the same as the ones Terry Brown produced. Personal bias.
I actually saw all of those tours as well, couldn't help wanting to get thru the new stuff and get to Xanadu. Not saying those albums aren't good, just not my personal favorites.

How'd you feel about VT? No keyboard on that album at all.. same with Feedback. Beyond the sound issues it's a great album.. but I don't wanna get into how bad is sounds.. we did that in the other Geddy thread.
