New Rickenbacker owner
Hi there all,
I just thought I'd introduce myself as a new Rickenbacker owner. I'm fairly new to playing the guitar (almost a year now), and probably young compared to most of you guys (I'm only 20). But I wanted a new guitar, and being left handed really limits your choices. To make a long story short, I'm a proud owner of a nice new left handed 620 in Burgendy. The craftsmanship is quite exquisite!

Hello Mike-- Welcome aboard! You are now a member of what I consider to be a very exclusive club (hopefully without the attendant snobbery). Rickenbackers are very special guitars and basses-- highly distinctive in their tone and appearance.

I actually have a question that hopefully you guys won't mind answering. I bought the guitar via mail from Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas. (I live in rural Illinois, so you can't really just walk into a local guitar shop and grab a lefty Rickenbacker). So I basically bought it sight unseen. The only problem with it when I recieved it is a small crack through the pickguard, which looks like it's due to someone overtightening a pickguard screw. It's not a huge problem, and certainly not worth the money it would cost to ship the guitar somewhere to get such a tiny problem fixed. Anyways, I'm hoping this kind of thing would be covered under the warranty. The problem is, as I was searching for a stamp to mail out the warranty card, I lost the card! To make matters worse, Rickenbacker is on holiday right now, and by the time they return, I'll have passed the 10 day warranty registration period. (Recieved the guitar on Dec. 17, I assmue the 10 day period is from the day you recieve it). Any suggestions for what I can do? I'd hate to have such an expensive guitar not be covered under warranty. Hopefully all you wise Rickenbacker owners might be able to help!

What I would do is simply take your serial number and date of purchase, address of who you purchased it from etc, write a letter to RIC and mail it to them.
