Compressors Compared

Post by rick36 »

I realize a lot of Forum members are using the Janglebox compressor. I've heard the sound clips on the Janglebox site - however no clips yet played on the Rick 360/12. What are the differences between the Janglebox and the Keeley Compressor?

I really don't want to say anything negative, or comment specifically about Keeley's box. One obvious difference is that JangleBox has a 3-selector EQ switch in addition to the standard gain and attack.

The JB circuit is deliberately voiced a little bright because we wanted to avoid rolling off the highs that I feel many other stomp box compressors do. Also, the sustain JangleBox produces is very pronounced. These two features, in particular, give our box its unique character. Whether that sound appeals, is, of course, subjective.

As for the 360-12 sound clips—my bad. My two companies, though small, have kept me very busy this year. But, I'm slowly ascending the learning curve on my Korg DM1200 digital workstation, so the plan is to have Ric-12 clips on the web site in early 2006.

Diamond compressor has Rick 330 c/w Vox AC30 clips on site.

I have one & am very pleased with it, I wonder how different it is to the pedals mentioned above? Anyway it does Byrds to Country to Funk & more!

Theres a few more clips with various guitars / amps as well to give you more of a idea?
