The Syn

Post by jps »

I saw them tonight, WOW, just an awesome show. It wwas a real treat to hear the sound of Chris' RM1999 and Electra basses coming right out of the Ampeg 810 cabinet from close range! I was about 4' away from him with the cabinet about 12' away.

He looks like he's playing a tenor uke! Is he that huge in person?

amazing shots. he keeps that 1999 in great shape... it looked great on his instructional video that came out a while back... i guess it's been refinished a few times.

i'm going to see them Thursday!

hey-

saw the Syn last night... good show. nice to be 5 rows from the Grail and Squire... anyway, i picked up the Original Syn box set, at the show, AND a few pages in the booklet that comes with it, there is a live shot... and you can make out Squire's RM1999 BEFORE the cream paint job. nice.

Does the pic depict the Rick with the decorative wallpaper still attached?

I have that box set, and I think there's only the one live shot. It shows the Rick in Fireglo, from what I can tell (it's not really a colour shot, and it is kinda dark). Hopefully KL can verify if I'm seeing the same thing as he is.

yeah Chris... it is dark and you can just make it out. cool. also, it was before the wallpaper... which you can make out on the cover of the box set.

i wonder what made him go with the cream color? i know he likes green and it has a greenish tinit, but who knows. peter banks painted his Rick guitar white, so maybe he and squire painted them roughly the same time...? info anyone?
