Wilson Pickett -- RIP

Post by ol_reb »

Reckon I'm playing "Mustang Sally" & "Midnight Hour" tonight at the bar.

Might even whip out "634-5789".

All performed on Rickenbackers of course.

RIP Wilson.

I hope he is in the Land of 1000 Dances, doing the Watusi in heaven. He was a great player and had a lot of REAL soul and funk. Something to be said for that!

Not only that...he found ways to tear the roof off the room while still respecting and delivering the melody...unlike all this Whitney Houston/American Idol cheez nowadays...

Like Public Enemy sez: "Who Stole The Soul?"
I didn't get where I am today by being on time...
